Jarrod and Kat’s rainy day Biltmore Estate engagement session turned out so well despite the elements working against us! Every person in the wedding industry knows that you have to have a rain plan for the day of the wedding. But when it comes to engagement sessions, there’s usually a bit more flexibility. However, we had to get these photos taken and so we made do.

And I’m obsessed. The umbrellas initiated a closeness and intimacy between Jarrod and Kat that really revealed how much they cherish and love each other. I think it also works as a lovely metaphor for how love covers all. When a picture or a prop can add to the story we’re telling? I love it!

I have had the pleasure of capturing a wedding at the Biltmore before, so I even knew a few special spots we could dip out of the rain for a series of pictures.
