Michael & Lauren | Blue & White Virginia Wedding

A Navy & White Rustic Barn Wedding, Dungannon VA | The Barn at Stoney Creek | Elizabeth Hill Photography

Michael & Lauren met in Sunday School at their church. Before they had even talked, Michael’s dad had kept encouraging him to ask Lauren out. Lauren never got the opportunity to meet his dad, but as fate would have it, the time would come when Michael would finally ask her out like his dad had always said.

Months after she had went to his Sunday school class (because she only went once due not knowing anyone!), she decided to message him on Facebook and ask about a Bible study. They met in the park last Spring and the rest is history.

One thing you should know about Lauren and Michael is that they love to go on adventures together. Even on the day Michael asked Lauren to marry her, she thought she was going deer scouting with him, but  Michael took her Elk Garden, VA and asked her to spend forever with him. They had only been dating for six months, but they knew it was exactly what God had planned for them. Even Lauren’s mom had told her after meeting Michael once, that she knew Lauren would marry him!

This couple has been such a blessing to me and I have been so honored to capture their love story in this season of life. Their wedding day had it’s funny moments (the power went out, A HUGE rain storm, no air condition for awhile, etc.) but in the quiet mountains of Dungannon, VA, surrounded by those they love most, everyone sat at their tables in a barn and watched Michael and Lauren promise forever to each other with Jesus at the center.

I’m so thrilled to be sharing with you, their wedding day! Thank you Michael & Lauren for trusting me and for allowing me to show just how much you love Jesus and each other! ENJOY YOUR HONEYMOON!

Lauren wanted to do a special first look with her brother! It was so sweet to see him see her right before she went down the aisle!

And this is where I started crying behind my camera. So incredible to see how much Michael loves her.

THEY ARE MARRIED!!!

These are the moments that are so special to me on a wedding day. It started raining while we were doing family formals and Michael carried his new bride back inside! Ah – one of my favorites from this whole day!

Lauren got to do a special dance with her brother! It was a crowd favorite!!

And when the rain stopped for 15 minutes – we ran outside to grab all these portraits together!! It was incredible in the sky after the rain stopped!

Michael is apparently known for doing some crazy things to his friends cars when they got married, so they got him back good before they left the reception!

Congratulations Lauren & Michael!

xoxo,

Elizabeth
